Buffalo Obscura is a photography collective founded in 2017 by Chris Hawley, Molly Jarboe and Christina Laing.
We host an ongoing series of photography pop up shows in obscure locations all around Buffalo. Our goals are to shine a light on parts of Buffalo that are often overlooked and also to bring the gallery experience to new audiences. These one-night-only shows have so far involved some of Buffalo’s best city documenters and artists in high profile, exceedingly well attended events. We have featured established photographers and artists whose work is widely shown, as well as citizen photographers known for their broader work in the community.
The Buffalo photography pop ups are mission oriented and, best of all, they present a fun way to explore the city through photographs and off-the-beaten-path venues. To make the art accessible to all, prints are priced at $25 each. If you would like to participate in an upcoming show, please reach out to us here.
